There is a rule under League Salary Cap that does state the following ....
"Total Salary - $1,000
NBA Salary Cap - $240 NHL Salary Cap - $290 NFL Salary Cap - $325 MLB Salary Cap - $350
Teams can exceed the salary cap for individual sports during the respective offseasons (time between championship and opening of the free contract drop periods), but can never exceed the $1,000 total salary cap. Teams should refrain from trading for players on expiring contracts in order to take advantage of this rule, but are able and encouraged to trade for players that will help in the coming season(s).. "
This rule is saying that team shouldn,t trade for a player on an expiring contract to take advantage.
To me reading this, it saying I can't look at someone roster that has an expired contract and trade for them to put on my roster. Needs to be re'written
