Because the top NBA players receive the largest contracts in the league as a result of smaller rosters, a fact that is reflected by the NBA prospect salaries, the NBA cap is by far the most difficult cap for teams to stay under. At $220 there is very little flexibility for trades, and as the prospect contracts get larger the problem will only get worse. I propose a $20 cap increase (making it $240) for all future NBA seasons, beginning with the 2016-17 season.
