1. St. Louis Sting - This ranking may be slightly biased, but it is tough to argue against the season points leader. The Sting enter Week 14 on a 3 game win streak and ready to make a deep run in the playoffs. This is a tough team to stop, and should be one of the favorites to take the crown.
2. New Jersey Haze - Wow. What a Week 13 it was for the Haze, scoring by far the most of any team in a single week with 259+ points. It's not just one week that gives the Haze the #2 spot though, as they are tied for the best record in the league going into the last week of the regular season. The Haze better get rested up for the playoffs, as they are in prime position to compete for the crown.
3. Dallas Desperados - The Desperados enter Week 14 on a 4 game win streak, as new QB Mark Sanchez seems to be leading the squad to victories week in and week out. We'll see if the former whipping boy can keep up the good play and help the Desperados to a league crown.
4. Norwich Nemesis - Riding a 3 game win streak into the final week, the Nemesis seem to be trending in the right direction at the right time. The win secures them a playoff spot and allows them to start thinking about the next few weeks, although it will be interesting to see who they will match up against in the first round.
5. Pensacola Pelicans - It's a tough task to choose between the Pelicans and #6 ranked Warriors, but the Pelicans have put together a slightly better performance over their last 3 matchups so they get the nod. They have secured a playoff spot, but who they play remains up in the air. The Pelicans need to heat up if they want to make a deep run.
6. Syracuse Warriors - The Warriors are in a tough spot, as they have scored a lot of points but will take a 7-6 record into the final week. Luckily for them they match up with the Doughnuts, giving them a good chance to secure a playoff berth. They just completed a big trade with the Fire to acquire Tom Brady and Calvin Johnson, so we'll see if this blockbuster can push the Warriors over the edge.
7. Salisbury Hotdogs - After taking a personal leave of absence, the Hot Dogs saw the team slip a little bit with 2 low-scoring losses. Now that owner Matt is back, expect the weiners to start having better outings. They have secured a playoff spot, so hopefully the return of their owner can help them end their losing streak heading into the playoffs.
8. Clayhounds Dawgs - As of this writing it appears the Dawgs will lose their Week 13 matchup, dropping their record to 7-6. They are in a "dawg" fight for the final playoff berth, and have to take on a tough St. Louis team in the final week. It'll be interesting to see if the Dawgs can cling on to the final spot or if a tie-breaker will ultimately decide their playoff fate.
9. Buffalo Wings - It appears the Wings will defeat the Dawgs in Week 13, making the battle for the last playoff spot very, very interesting. They enter the final week with a 6-7 record and matchup with Nemesis. It's a must-win matchup for the Wings, and they must have a loss from the Dawgs and/or Warriors to have a chance. It should be a fun ride, and we'll see if the Wings have the guts to earn a playoff berth.
10. Chicago Fire - After being eliminated from playoff contention, the Fire made a blockbuster trade with the Warriors, acquiring Matt Forte and Cam Newton for next season. They also freed themselves from the crazy Calvin Johnson contract, a huge boon to the Fire's future flexibility. They may be out of it this year, but expect a better showing from the Windy City next season. They have the talent to be much better than this.
11. Gainesville Gators - The Gators' season has been over for a few weeks now. They just didn't have it in them this year to secure a playoff spot, and an aging roster doesn't look too promising for next season. Hopefully they can add some talent in the rookie draft and free agency next season.
12. Eakin Doughnuts - The Doughnuts will likely have the dubious honor of finishing last in the league, in large part due to taking over an inactive team with an incomplete roster. Look for a bounce back from the Doughnuts next year though, as they have some young talent to grow with and a full offseason to work with.
